Who We Are
Aka Energy Group, whose sole owner is the Southern Ute Indian Tribe (SUIT),
was established in 2002 to pursue business opportunities in the natural gas
midstream sector of the energy industry outside the external boundaries of
the SUIT Reservation. Aka Energy Group enjoys the SUIT’s AAA credit ratings
with both Standard & Poor’s and Fitch.
Current assets consist of eight gas processing and treating plants, 1,758 miles
of gas gathering pipelines connected to over 2,000 wells, 87,119 horsepower of gas
compression, 432,500 Mcf/d of processing and treating capacity and 1,000 B/d of
fractionation capacity.
The Gilcrest Gas Plant and Gathering System, located in Weld County, Colorado, was Aka Energy Group’s principal facility in its
first full year of operation.
In June 2004, Aka Energy Group purchased
Frontier Field Services, LLC and
Lumen Midstream Partnership, LLC, both headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In 2004, Aka Energy Group also constructed the Waterfall gas gathering pipeline in Lincoln County, Wyoming, establishing a base of operations in one of the nation’s most active growth regions.
